2008 Outgoing Captain versus Incoming Captain

The cancelled Captain V Vice Captain took place on the 27th April with tradition being upheld for another year, The Captain i.e. Me lost in a closely fought Matchplay competition.

I would like to thank all the Players and Club Officials who have helped make my Tenure as Captain a privilege and a pleasure, I would also like to take this opportunity to wish Dave Elbourn all the best for his forthcoming season as Captain, And I'm sure he will be supported in his endevours by his Vice Captain Tony Stephens, good luck to both of you and thank you all.

Individual Results

Steve Wheeler (SW) halved with Dave Elbourn (DE)

Ian HIbbeard (DE) beat Jeff Banks 5&4

Adam Wheeler (DE) beat Mike Hibbeard 7&6

Mike Avis (SW) beat Glen Brunt (6&4)

David Clothier (DE) beat Andy Charlton 3&2

John Standford (SW)beat Phil Carvelly 2&1

Ian Fox (SW) beat Stuart Robson 5&4

Richard Szemiako (DE) beat Neil White 5 & 3

Tony Stephens (SW) beat Steve Bentley by 1 hole

Dave Cox (DE) beat Henry Whaddon 4&3

From that, the overall result was outgoing Captain Steve Wheeler lost to incoming Captain 5 1/2 points to 4 1/2 points, again continuing the trend of victory for the incoming captain.
